Minu tehtud luuletus: An exchange student journey - from nothing to everything

Tervitus!!! :)

Seega siin see on, minu kiiruga tehtud luuletus (1 h pidin valmis saama)

An exchange student journey – from nothing to everything

Liis Lõhmus

An airplane ticket in the pocket

A slight breeze in your hair

This is how it all began

This is how the journey started

You close the backdoor locker

Locker of your old life

Last kisses and hugs

Made by

Your family

Friends

Closest people you know

They look so happy, so joyful and amazed

But in your heart you know

This is just not the case

Airplane makes really noises

That's what you know

But it never seemed to matter, it never seemed true

You listen the voices, smells and rustles

People passing by

Talking and chatting of meanigless things

You hear their voices

But yet never you're present

When you're finally there

There in new world

There in your own new home for many-many months

You feel the excitement ties

But it doesn't seem to count

You're still so raw, so fluffy and young

Still not knowing, guessing or searching

Where the truth of your exchange year unfolds and lies

With courage in your heart

With unwavering scream in your soul

You step out into the sunlight centrum

Seeing so much new, new is gold

New people, new city, new emotions popping up

You feel the happiness, you feel like flying

Yet it isn't there to stay

Cause first and new is always good

But it doesn't determine the permanent mood

Soon the amazeness goes

And you'll find yourself

Sitting in your bed

At 3 am

Caught by the chocolate boxes and sweets

Not even knowing

When it all is said

When the tears will end and the misery fade

No one seems to understand your feelings and thoughts

And no one seems to realise that you're alone in this world

Alone, alone in the brand new world you're slowly blending in

Trying to make connections and trying to find friends

Black tunnel it stays

Or so it seems

You can't see the light, you can't feel the hope

Your life is on freeze and you wanna go home

Cause home is safe, traditional and great

But then

Stepping out into the brightness again

Acknowledging the never ending truth

That life is a series of lessons and experinces

A possibility to fully live and shine

A possibility to create new ties and worlds

A possibility to learn something from everyone

A possibility to turn nothing to everything

A reason to let your mind to calm and your heart to trust

The value of exchange year

And the value of making new, astonishing, wonderful worlds

And realising that a year from your life is nothing to be compared

To your whole life time ahead

Days will pass and the months will go

You start feeling better, you start feeling slight

People will come and finally stay,

not for hours or very short time

The language seems amazing and oh what a wonder

You finally understand that!

Your true family in your true country

Is lingering in your heart

Like a forever flowing song, an infinity's lake

It doesn't seem that hard

That exchange year

Cause you're never really far from the people you love

Or from the friends you cherish and adore and like

For they live in your soul

In the fragments of your being

And in the bottom of your heart

You know you'll be there

With them in the huge embrace

But yet never forgetting

The new world you created

Within few months

With the new people that became like family

With the new country that growed its roots to you

And with the new feeling of home

Between your home land and the other

Ever glowing in your soul

In you, fabolous exchange student

Who created a new world

And turned it from nothing to everything

Kallid teile,

Liis
